PIPING SINCE 1991
I have been playing the Great Highland Bagpipe since the age of 10. I was inspired to learn the instrument after seeing a piper play whilst on holiday in Scotland. My mother was also keen to encourage me as there had never been a piper in the Scottish side of the family. Fortunately my mother had a friend who could play and he was happy to teach me. Alec Maclain (ex Nottingham Police Pipe Major) saw me through from the basics to playing parades with the Seaforth Highlanders in Mansfield and eventually competing in grade 4 with Ashbourne Pipes and Drums.
After a long break from playing in pipe bands I joined Manchester Phoenix in 2015 . In 2016 we competed at the British, Scottish, and World Championships and won the All England Champions at Chatsworth Highland Games. I played at my first solo competition (RSPBA North West) and won branch 3rd place in the 6/8 march.

A Career in Piping
Every year I am honored to be asked to play at The Thorpe Park Hotel in Leeds and Napoleons Casino in Sheffield to pipe at their New Years Eve Celebrations and I am privileged to play at a number of Burns Supper events at Sheffield’s renowned banqueting hall Baldwins Omega .
